Southwell Cricket Club Renovation

During the start of the cricket season, we installed a new synthetic sports surface at Southwell Cricket Club, ensuring minimal disruption to their activities. We used boards and small machinery to protect the playing area, allowing it to be used immediately after project completion. Our meticulous care meant there were hardly any interruptions to the club’s cricket training schedule.

The cricket system was installed according to the latest Notts Sport designs and specifications. It includes two 11-meter Envelope System batting ends and two 8-meter Notts Sport bowling ends, all topped with Notts Grass tufted cricket turf. This setup ensures a high-quality, durable playing surface.

We tailored the cricket cage and netting system to the club’s specific requirements. The selected low-maintenance surround material makes it easier for the club to keep the area in top condition. The cricket envelope system is designed to replicate natural playing conditions as closely as possible. When wet, the sports surface offers slower and lower play, mimicking early-season conditions. As it dries, it becomes quicker with more bounce, reflecting the typical progression through the cricket season.

This project showcased our ability to handle larger-than-standard installations. We moved approximately 250 tonnes of soil and installed a root break, a mole trench, and a ducting trench, ensuring a comprehensive and robust solution. All work was completed on time and within budget, and the installation comes with a standard 10-year warranty. The successful execution of this project has provided the club with an excellent practice facility that will serve them well for years to come.
