A Fresh Addition for Local Sport
We’re excited to share one of our latest projects, a brand new long jump facility built right here in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire. At Bingham Ground Services, we’re all about supporting community sport, and this project was no exception. It’s been a pleasure working on something that we know will benefit local athletes, schools, and clubs for years to come.
What We Built
This installation included a 20-metre synthetic long jump runway, leading into a spacious 8m x 3m sand pit. To keep things safe, we added a shock pad underneath the run-up, which helps absorb impact and reduce strain on joints. Perfect for both young beginners and more experienced jumpers. We also finished the edges with a tidy mow margin, making the space easy to maintain and keeping it looking sharp all year round.
Every element was chosen with long-term use in mind. Whether it’s a PE lesson, a training session, or a school competition, this setup is ready to go.
Built for the Community
One of the best parts about this project was knowing it’s going to serve the Woodhall Spa community. There’s something special about building sports facilities that will help young people stay active, develop their skills, and maybe even discover a new passion. We’re big believers in grassroots sport, and projects like this are at the heart of what we do.
It’s not just about creating a long jump pit, it’s about creating opportunities. This new facility adds to the growing network of athletics and track-and-field spaces across Lincolnshire. Helping local schools and clubs access the kind of professional-standard sports surfaces they deserve.
