Bingham Ground Services installed this Multi Use Games Area at a local school in East Markham.
We worked with the School throughout this project from initial site visit, right through to completion. We also assisted with the planning permission application, to give the school the perfect sports and play surface.
To minimise disruptions to the school, it was agreed for all works to be carried out during school holidays.
The area created was a 30m x 15m Kick-about surface design, with floor markings specifically for football, however other sports such as Netball would be playable as and when required.
The play surface is a sand filled, needle punch surface, which comes with an 8 year warranty.
At first the sand will sit on top but as the surface gets used it will drop into the pile and the surface becomes green in colour.
The sand protects the pile and therefore makes it last longer, this does require a level of ongoing maintenance but less than the rubber 3G type.
We fitted mole barriers around the pitch to prevent them getting underneath, as the School had a previous issues with moles, which we have now controlled.
A full maintenance pack is provided for the Multi Use Games Area upon completion, for the School to follow to ensure many years of good use.
